Applications are invited for direct recruitment through written test & interview for filling up 60 posts of Scientist-B in PB-3 (Rs.15600-39100) + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400 in Medical and Non-medical fields at ICMR’s Institutes/Centres located in different parts of India.
Venue of Written test :- New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata,

1. Essential Qualifications for respective category of Posts :-
i) Scientist- B (Medical/Epidemiology) – MBBS/equivalent Degree recognized by MCI
ii) Scientist-B (Veterinary Science) – B.V.Sc & AH Degree recognized by VCI
iii) Scientist-B (Life Science) – 1st Class Master’s Degree in life Sciences /related subjects,
Nutrition, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Physiology,Microbiology, Entomology, Environment Sciences, Molecular Biology, Lab Science Pharmaceutical science or equivalent degree from a recognized University.
Or
2nd Class M.Sc/Relavant Post graduate degree +Ph.D degree relevant subject from a recognized University.
iv) Scientist- B (Biostatistics)-1st Class Master’s Degree in Biostatistics or equivalent degree
from a recognized University.
Or
2nd Class M.Sc/Relavant Post graduate degree +Ph.D degree in relevant subject from a recognized University.
v) Scientist- B (Anthropology/Social Behavioral Science)-1st Class Master’s Degree in Sociology/Medical Social Work or equivalent degree from a recognized University.
OR
2nd Class M.Sc + Ph.D degree relevant subject from a recognized University.
2. Desirable Qualification 🙁 For all five Categories of posts)
(i) Doctorate (MD/M.V.Sc/Ph.D) in relevant subject from a recognized university.
(ii) Additional Post doctoral research/teaching experience in relevant subject/recognized institute.
(iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications/ Data Management.
(iv) Two years R&D/Teaching experience in the relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification.
3. Age limit.
Upper age limit for unreserved category is 35 years which is relaxable up to 5 years for Govt. servants.
For SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates As per govt relaxations will be allowed.
4. Other Service Conditions
(i) Pay Scale – PB-3 (Rs.15600-39100) +Grade Pay Rs.5400
(ii) Allowances- As admissible to govt. employees.
(iii) NPA- Private practice is not allowed. However, non-practicing allowance is admissible to medical graduates only as per rules.
(iii) Pension- Benefits are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of
Finance
5. Application Fee:
General & OBC candidates:- Rs. 500/-
SC & ST candidates :- Rs.100/-
PWD category :- No fee
Payment of application fee is to be done in the form of crossed demand draft of any Bank drawn in favour of Director General, ICMR, N. Delhi payable at N.Delhi.

7. Selection :
Shortlisting of candidates for interview will be done on the basis of merit list of result of Written Test & then only qualified candidates will be called for personal discussion/interview to be held at ICMR,Hqrs. N. Delhi.
