How to Calculate IBPS RRB Marks: (Total Weighted Score):

To say candidate have got minimum qualifying marks then he/she must qualify Section cut off along with the total weighted score (TWS).

Total Weighted Score = Scores obtained in (Reasoning * 1.25) + (Numerical Ability * 1.25) + (General Awareness * 1) + (English / Hindi * 1) + (Computer Knowledge * 0.5)

    • Dear Chinmaya Singh,

      Interview Cut off for General candidate would be around 140+5 or 140-5.This is basically depends on the recruiting rural bank based on no.of vacancies.

  20. I got 171 marks for the assistant post. I am from west bengal and belong to SC category, but would like to join as a general category candidate. Is there any chance? Also please tell me the procedure for applying in banks within west bengal. Also is there any opportunity during interview to get the posting as per my choice? Thanks in advance.

      Vacancies fill up by Gen,and SC category wise for you.Do not worry notification will be released by the following banks separately in the month of January 2015.

But I don’t have any knowledge about the selection procedure of RRBs and I am curious to know if there is any provision for selecting the posting location as per my choice during the interview? I want to study further, that’s why I want the posting location to be near Kolkata if selected in interview.

    • Hi tapas, I m 4rm West bengal too..I would suggest you to retain ur SC cat for the following reasons..
      1. It wud help u to get better posting (if not Kolkata considering the fact that ur a male and the bank is rural) as ur marks is quite high in SC cat..u’ll get favorable preferences.

      2. Regarding future promotion/seniority and salary hike it wud be of immense help to be a privileged cat(ST/SC/OBC) rather than being general.

      3. Think about it..When a privileged cat choose to be a general it lessens the chance of a general candidate even more ( as already they are not exempted on age as SC/ST get 5 yrs and OBC 3 yrs / burden of higher cut off marks/ higher application fees/ limited vaccancy)..If u choose to be a general with ur 171 marks; a general candidate with the very same marks and may be economically weak can suffer for their life..While u will not gain any added advantage out of it..So why do it when ur already safe!! So I wud like to request you not to do this..rest is upon u …Thnak u..

    • Less Arvind because you have secured marks more than the total over all cut off marks for SC.So there will be so many candidates scored more than your marks.

  161. Sir, i am from andhra pradesh, i got 130 in OA. SC. But when i registration time i opted center in Hyderabad(TELANGANA) an it shows in application form applied state is Telangana but by state is Andhrapradesh. so, there is any problem. please carify my doubt.

    • No problem at all…Irrespective of the state as the regional language is TELUGU you can apply for RRB Banks..
      And for Telangana and AP states,there are 5 participating RRBs.

    • Dear Jothi,you must have studied Regional Language in your SSC or academics.Then only you will be eligible for RRBs irrespective of having knowledge of languages.

    • This year cut off was from 172 to 191..So that is why you did not get Interview call..Do not worry prepare very well for other exams.Remember there is a very good competition.

    And I have one more doubt ….andhra and telanagana both are TELUGU speaking states if the people from both the states applied for a bank in telangana shall we (telangana people) get any local reservation

    • You can apply for 5 banks (A.P and TS) are eligible and basically everything depends on Merit basis.And Andhra Pragathi Gramin Bank has released its notification of 482 vacancies…We shall soon provide article on the same.And remember there is high competition in AP and TS states, there may be less chances for you.

    • 40% chances for you shan…because there is good competition in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. But I suggest you to apply for APGB, it is just a matter of Rs.150/- …and if you do not get chance this time, you may be called for interview in second phase. So do apply for it …
