Details about IPS exam

Overview of the exam:
Indian Police Service(IPS) is responsible for the maintenance of law and order in the country. An IPS officer serve for both central and state government. IPS exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) every year. This test conist of three stages first Preliminary exam then Mains and at last interview. Only Indian citizens can apply for the IPS exam. IPS officer concerned for public safety and security. And an IPS officer is also responsible for the the regulation of rules. IPS works together with IAS.

Who can apply for IPS:

The candidate should be Indian. They should have degree from a recognized university. The candidate’s age should be between 21 to 30 years and there is relaxation for the SC/ST and COB candidates. OBC have 3 years and for the SC/ST there is 5 years relaxation. For this it is very important to be physically fit. Height should be 165 cm for males and 150 cm for the female. And chest should be minimum 84 cm and expansion can 5 cm for males and minimum 99 cm and expansion 5 cm for female.
Eye sight should be 6/6 or 6/9.
Blood pressure for Age 23 should be 123, age 24 should have 124, age 25 should have 122, age 28 should have 124, age 32 should have 126 and age 34 should have 127.
Note: At the time of the medical test ladies should not be pregnant.

General Category: 4
OBC: 7
SC/ST: Unlimited

How to apply:

The candidate can apply online as well as offline. If you want to apply online then you have to download the application form from the official website of the UPSC. You should fill all the details in the application form.
and if you want to apply offline then you can buy a application form from the any specified post office and you can also buy it from main stationary shop. And then fill all the details after that you can send it to that address which is specified in the application form.

Selection Procedure:

Preliminary exam i.e. objective paper
Main Exam
Interview and Physical test.
Preliminary exam consist of 2 papers and both are 200 marks.
In mains you have to give 9 papers and which contains 2000 marks.
After that you should appoint for the Interview of physical test.
