CAT 2014 Exam Important Dates, Common Admission Test (CAT) is a nationwide common entrance examination for aspirants who are willing to do their Management Programmes of IIMs.CAT 2014 exam is conducted by Indian Institute of Managements.CAT 2014 Exam eligibility Criteria, Patten of the examination, Important Dates, expected CAT 2014 Exam dates are given below in Detail. Name of the Examination: Common Admission Test (CAT 2014)

Important Dates:

Starting date of Sales of Vouchers: August 2014 (First week)

Closing date of Sales of Vouchers: September 2014 (Third Week)

Starting date of Registrations for CAT 2014: August 2014 (First Week)

Last date of Registrations for CAT 2014: September 2014 (Third Week)

CAT 2014 Exam Dates:

CAT Examination will be held from October 2014 (Second Week) to November 2014 (Second Week)

CAT 2014 Results: January 2015 (Second Week)

CAT 2014 Eligibility:

i).Candidate must have possessed a Bachelor’s Degree (B.E/B.Tech after 10+2 or Post B.Sc or Post Diploma) from recognized university

ii).Candidates must have obtained minimum percentage of

For SC/ST/Differently Abled – 45%

For all others – 50%

iii).In case candidates awarded Grades/CGPA instead of Marks the conversion of GRADES/CGPA to % (percentage) of Marks would be based on the individual process certified by the University Institution from where candidates have obtained Bachelor’s Degree

(If university does not have any scheme of converting CGPA/Grades to percentage, then “Divide the CGPA the maximum CGPA and then multiply the result with 100

Ex: Candidate gets – 8.1 CGPA out of 10 CGPA

The Percentage (%) = (8.1/10) * 100 = 81% )

iv).Final year Bachelor Degree pursuing candidates are also eligible for CAT 2014 exam

Registration Fees:

For General and OBC (Non Creamy layer) candidates – Rs.1600/-

For SC/ST/PWD/DA – Rs.800/-

Registration Fees must be paid only in the name of the candidates as it appears in the 12th/Diploma/Degree Certificates

 CAT 2014 Exam Pattern:

Type of Test: Computer Based Test

Before the commencement of exam: 15 minutes tutorial will be given

Type of Questions: MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions Objective Type)

Total No. of Sections: 02

Section-I:

Duration of Exam: 1 hr 10 minutes

Total no. of questions: 30 Q

Candidates will be tested on: Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation

Section-II:

Duration of Exam: 1 hr 10 minutes

Total no. of questions: 30 Q

Candidates will be tested on: Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning

CAT 2014 Admission Process:

i).Each IIM Shortlists Candidates for the second stage of selection which generally may be independent of each other

ii).Process consists of

A).Written Ability Test

B).Group Discussion

C).Personal Interview

Reservation of Seats:

As far as the Government of India needs are concerned, the following % reservations as per category

For SC Candidates – 15% of seats

For ST Candidates – 7.5% of Seats

For OBC (Non Creamy Layer) – 27% of seats

For Differently abled candidates – 3% of seats
