IAS exam 2014, Important Dates and Eligibility.IAS exam is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year.IAS is marked as Top category government Services among all other services. To get in to IAS category, candidates need to attend for Competitive Examination. This IAS exam 2014 is known as “Civil Service Examination” (CSE).Good Career path can be expected with IAS Services. Name of the Exam: Civil Service Examination

Important Dates:

IAS Exam 2014 Civil Services Preliminary Exam:

Date of Notification: 31st May, 2014

Last date of Receipt of Applications: Will be updated soon 

Date of Commencement of Exam: 24th August, 2014 (Sunday)

Duration of Exam: 01 day

IAS Exam 2014 Civil Services Main Exam:

Date of Commencement of Exam: 14th December, 2014

Duration of Exam: 05 days

Eligibility Criteria:

i).Candidate must be an Indian Citizen

ii).Candidates must have passed their Bachelor Degree from recognized university.Also candidates who are appearing their final year are also eligible

iii).Candidates between 21 years and 30 years are eligible to appear for IAS Exam 2014

iv).Relaxation will be applicable for reserved candidates (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen) according to the Government orders/Instructions

v).Candidates applying for Examination must be physically and mentally fit as per the specifications given by authorities

Selection Process:

1).CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) Preliminary Examination

2).Civil Services MAINS Examination & Interview

Examination Pattern:

A).Preliminary Examination:

i).Preliminary Examination basically consists of TWO PAPERS which are of “Objective Type”

ii).The Questions in Preliminary Examination are of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s)

iii).Maximum marks: 400 Marks

B).Mains Examination:

i).Candidates who qualify their Preliminary exam, then only they will be directed to under the selection process of Mains Examination

ii).Mains Examination consists of both WRITTEN examination and INTERVIEW rounds

Written Examination:

Total No. of Papers: 09 papers

Questions Type: Conventional Essay type (Where two papers will be of qualifying in nature)

Marks for Interview: 275 marks, Remember there is no minimum qualifying marks

And Marks obtained in compulsory papers and Marks obtained in Interview for personality test will be taking in to the consideration for ranking purpose

Candidate’s allocation:

For Mains Examination:

No. of Candidates will be shortlisted = 12(Total no. of vacancies)

For Interview:

No. of candidates will be called for Interview = 2(No. of vacancies to be filled up)
